The idea behind Simunye Mobile was born out of having been there ourselves; missing a connecting flight and getting stuck in a foreign city we didn't plan on staying in, without reliable connectivity to at least tell friends and family where we were.
Looking for yet another local SIM card was not an option.
As frequent flyers ourselves we have a deep appreciation for airline crew who also sometimes get stuck in the same foreign cities as us. But even under normal airline work conditions it will be extremely useful to have reliable connectivity for when you fly between various countries, on a near daily basis.ย
Working on ships and yachts with limited, expensive satellite internet, constantly moving between ports, with no time to find and buy local SIMs. Or when you as maritime crew are suddenly relocated to another vessel, on the other side of the world.
